懸仏(Hanging Buddhist image)

木彫りの小さな懸仏です。

こちらは元々懸仏として作られたものではなく、小さな仏像を買われた方が飾り映えするように手持ちの漆皿と組み合わせて懸仏(のよう)にした物と思われます。

仏像自体は作りとお顔からしてラオスかカンボジアあたりの物だと思います。おそらくそれほど古いものではありません。せいぜいが19世紀末〜20世紀初頭、ややもすれば戦前戦後あたりかもしれません。

光背もおそらく別の用途のものをリユースしたものでしょう。

こういう鑑賞の仕方、素敵ですね〜✨

It is a small carved Buddha statue.

It is believed that this was not originally made as a Buddha statue, but that people who bought a small Buddha statue combined it with a lacquer plate they had on hand to make it look like a Buddha statue.

I think the Buddha statue itself is from Laos or Cambodia, judging from its construction and face. It's probably not that old. At most, it may be from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, perhaps around the pre-war period.

The halo is probably reused for another purpose.

This way of appreciating is wonderful!

I would like to give it to someone who will inherit the heart of the previous owner.
